Body Image & Disordered Eating Therapy in Austin & Virtually Across Texas
“and i said to my body. softly. ‘i want to be your friend.’ it took a long breath. and replied, ‘ i have been waiting my whole life for this'”
― Nayyirah Waheed
Perhaps you struggle with food, body image, how you are perceived on social media, or your relationship to control.
While you may not fit clinical “criteria” for an eating disorder, you still find yourself:
obsessing over what you eat
hyper-focused on your workout plans
stuck in a cycle of never feeling accomplished or good enough at the gym, with your diet, or in your body
comparing yourself to others
witnessing your body change during pregnancy or postpartum or after pregnancy loss or miscarriage
feeling disappointed in how you look despite your discipline.
Together, we’ll work to help counter the difficult aspects of perfectionisms while looking at past experiences of body-based criticism or trauma, as well as how our environment shapes our belief systems.
