Alyssa Autterson, MA, LPC-Associate
Alyssa Autterson brings a unique perspective to psychotherapy, shaped by nearly a decade in the entertainment industry before earning her MA in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University (Summa Cum Laude). This blend of real-world experience and advanced clinical training allows her to deeply understand the stress, burnout, and misalignment that often surface in high-pressure careers, creative industries, and academic environments. She strives to create a therapeutic space where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered.
Alyssa specializes in working with individuals and couples navigating anxiety, relationship stress and breakups, trauma, perfectionism, complex family dynamics, body image concerns, identity exploration, and major life transitions—including career changes, marriage, new parenthood, and emerging adulthood. With a background in the arts and entertainment world, she also brings a deep passion for supporting creatives, entrepreneurs, and high-achieving professionals.
Alyssa’s work is rooted in values of inclusion and cultural humility. She is an affirming therapist and ally to clients who are racially or ethnically diverse, neurodivergent, LGBTQIA+, polyamorous, and from underrepresented faith backgrounds. Her goal is to help clients balance personal and professional demands while staying grounded in who they truly are.
Originally from Texas, Alyssa earned her BA from the University of Southern California (Magna Cum Laude) and is the founder of Aligned Therapy Collective. She takes a relational, holistic approach to therapy—collaborating with clients while honoring them as the experts in their own lives. Her trauma-informed framework incorporates mind, body, and spirit, with a clinical foundation in EMDR, which she has been trained in through EMDRIA-approved programs.
Through evidence-based care, Alyssa helps clients reduce anxiety and overthinking, heal from past wounds, strengthen relationships, increase self-worth, and quiet the inner critic.
Alyssa is currently accepting new clients via Telehealth across Texas, and in-person in Austin, with California licensure coming soon.

A little more about me…
By 29, I had achieved my “dream job” working as a TV Development Executive, living in Los Angeles—the life I’d worked towards achieving since I was 10. But something felt off. I felt like a “human doing” instead of a “human being” and was overwhelmed by fears: “What if I can’t find a career path that feels right?” or “What if people think I failed?”
Through the guidance of a nonjudgmental and supportive therapist, I confronted my fears, past traumas, and emotions I had long avoided. Together, we built a new, meaningful life narrative rooted in my authentic self—not societal markers of worthiness or success. This journey of self-discovery was not easy and still presents challenges, but it gave me the clarity and courage to pursue a life aligned with my values.
My past experience fuels my passion as a psychotherapist. I believe in the transformative power of therapy to help you reconnect with your core self, redefine your life purpose, & navigate challenges with greater ease. It would be my privilege to guide you toward a more meaningful and peaceful life.
When I’m not working with my clients, I enjoy painting, traveling, ceramics, watching indie film & theater, reading, walking the trail with my golden retriever, Olive, & spending time with family and friends.
